Carrie Underwood's Unexpected Collaboration Leaves Fans in Disbelief

Carrie Underwood may be known as the country queen who gave us classics like "Before He Cheats" and "Cowboy Casanova," but that doesn't mean she won't dabble in some hard rock every now and then.

The American Idol judge left fans in total shock when she reconnected with longtime friend Jacoby Shaddix, lead singer of Grammy-nominated band Papa Roach. The band was performing at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, right down the road from Carrie's Vegas residency. Naturally, the country artist decided to make a quick visit that had fans begging Carrie for a rock album in the future.

Dressed in leather bell bottoms, a fringe-filled jacket, and a fishnet top that showed off her toned figure, the 42-year-old took to Instagram to share photos from the epic collab with Papa Roach, saying, "Still in disbelief over this one." She added, "Not only did I get to perform 'Leave A Light On' with them, but I got called BACK out to do 'Last Resort,' because, why not?!"

And if you were wondering what Carrie would sound like if she made the transition from country to rock, well, luckily, she shared a clip of their duet on Instagram that left fans saying, "We never knew we needed this" and "this goes crazy 🤘."

This performance marked the first time Carrie and Papa Roach performed live together, but it certainly isn't their first time collaborating. Last year, they hopped in the studio to record a fresh version of Papa Roach's song "Leave a Light On (Talk Away the Dark)" to help shed a light on mental health awareness and suicide prevention. Royalties from their duet went to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and raise awareness for the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.

Longtime fans are probably well aware that this wasn't Carrie's first time taking on the rock genre head-on. She's also performed covers of songs including Guns N' Roses' "Sweet Child o' Mine" and Aerosmith's "Walk This Way," to name a few. Let's just say that if she decides to make a rock album, we certainly wouldn't oppose it.
