Country singer Carrie Underwood's decision to sing at Donald Trump's presidential inauguration has left her fans divided, with some supporting her, while others decided to stop listening to her music altogether.

Underwood's reps confirmed the news and shared a statement with Parade that said, "I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event. I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future.”

Fans reacted to the surprising news by sharing their thoughts online, with one writing, "And when it comes to Carrie Underwood, disappointed but not surprised. Jesus take the wheel indeed."

Others who didn't agree with Underwood's decision wrote, "I've been a huge fan for 13 years... there is no defending this..." and "Shame I used to love Carrie Underwood but not surprising."

"Carrie Underwood is preforming [sic] at Trump’s inauguration so I’m blocking her on all apps and boycotting all her music. 😡," read a particularly negative response to the news.

Some fans were stunned her support of Trump, while others weren't as surprised, saying, "Anyone who is surprised or shocked about the news that Carrie Underwood is performing at Tr*mp’s inauguration just wasn’t paying attention."

But it wasn't all negative, with many longtime fans of Underwood cheering her on and sharing support for the new career move.
