Why Carrie Bickmore is feeling anxious about the birth of her third child

Having just gone on maternity leave, Carrie Bickmore is preparing for the birth of her third child.

However, the 37-year-old has admitted she’s feeling “sense of anxiety” for the impending arrival of the newborn.

Following her recent interview with Stellar about experiencing stress during pregnancy, The Project star took to Instagram to thank everyone who “reached out with their own challenges as well as happy pregnancy/birth experiences”.

“Anyone who knows me giving birth fills me with a sense of anxiety due to past experiences,” she admitted.

However, Carrie explained she is trying to focus on the positive.

“But this time round I am really trying to focus on the wonderful end result, rather than the process, and I feel much calmer,” she wrote. “Can’t wait to meet our new little munchkin.”

Last week, speaking on her Hit Network radio show Carrie and Tommy, the presenter broke down in tears explaining she was worried the impact a new baby would have on the close bond between her two other children, Ollie, 11, and three-year-old Evie.

“They’re so cute together,” Carrie said.

“They’re a little team. He (Ollie) never thought he was going to get a baby brother or sister and then he got a little sister and they’re seven years apart and they’re joined at the hip,” she continued.

“And I know families of three and I know they’ll all love each other so much, but I don’t want anything to happen to their bond. So it makes me a little sad,” she said.
