Carrie Bickmore points out awkward detail in royal baby Lilibet's name
Carrie Bickmore has revealed the major flaw with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s unique name for their daughter, Lilibet ‘Lili’ Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.
Carrie and her radio co-host, Tommy Little, pointed out an awkward detail that might expose Lili to schoolyard bullying.
Chatting on their Hit network drive show Carrie and Tommy on Monday, the duo said that the name sounds extremely similar to ‘little bit’.
“Do you want to finish the name, or do you just want to give me a ‘little bit’ of it?,” Tommy remarked after Carrie told him the first name.

“Just give me a ‘little bit’ of the name and make me guess the rest,” he added.
Carrie went on to explain the origins of the name: “Lilibet is named after the Queen because when she was a little girl, the Queen couldn’t pronounce her own name Elizabeth.”
“Do you mean when she was a ‘little bit’ of a woman?,” Tommy joked.
Followers on Instagram couldn’t help but laugh at the wordplay from the radio hosts.
“Tommy couldn’t help himself today!,” one person wrote. “You guys are hilarious.”
“Tommy on a roll today,” another commented.
Karl Stefanovic mocked the name
Today host Karl Stefanovic also made it clear that he wasn’t a fan of the name during Monday morning’s episode.
While interviewing controversial host Piers Morgan, Karl asked: “What did you make of the name Lilibet? Does it sound like a sports betting app?”
The joke was in reference to a number of Australian betting apps, including Sportsbet, Unibet and Pointsbet.
During the Today show interview, Piers slammed Prince Harry and Meghan for their choice of baby name.
“I think it's quite ironic, isn't it?" he said. “You have this couple who have been trashing the royal family and the monarchy for the last few weeks and they have named the baby after the Queen.”
“Maybe it's their way of reaching out, as the Americans say, to the royals and wanting some kind of end to this on-running feud," Piers added.
Lilibet is currently eighth in line to the throne, but is unlikely to have a royal title as Harry and Meghan no longer use their own HRH stylings.
However, both Archie and her sister could be prince and princess when Prince Charles becomes king as they will be grandchildren of the monarch.
