The pink power suit taking over Aussie TV
If you think you’ve been seeing a lot of pink on TV lately, you’re not wrong.
Pink power suits are having a bit of a moment, and everyone from Carrie Bickmore to Edwina Bartholomew and Amanda Keller have been rocking them on our screens.
At the weekend, Seven sports reporter, Jacqueline Felgate, covered a women’s AFL match in Melbourne in a pinstriped, pink Mossman suit set that viewers fawned over.
“Wow that is an amazing look I love it... top taste Jacquie,” one person wrote on Instagram, while others said, “Love everything about your outfit!!”, “Am loving that suit” and "Saw you today and loved this Jacqui".
She paired the $250 Natural Wonder Blazer and matching $200 pants with kicks from Golden Goose which gave the look a more casual feel, perfectly suited for the pitch.
Someone on the Seven styling team must also be a fan of the look because earlier this month Perth news presenter, Amelia Broun, was dressed in this hot pink Fitted Jacket and Trouser set by Camilla and Marc that retails for $1,350, and Sunrise’s Edwina Bartholomew suited up in this pink $748 Jillian Boustred Tommy Blazer with matching Olivia Trousers.
Eddy also gave a shout out to a similar, but decidedly more affordable, power suit on her Instagram, saying, “I am going to be spending all Spring and Summer in this @cereslife linen suit.”
“No filter. No ironing. How clothes (and people) should be. Yes, I prefer my people a little crumpled too.”
The rusty blush ensemble is currently on sale for $109.

Meanwhile Carrie Bickmore, Amanda Keller and Gorgi Coghlan have also been seen in pink recently, wearing a $250 Country Road Pocket Detail Blazer, $629 Carla Zampatti Passion Pink Dream Jacket, and $244 Veronika Maine Linen Suit Blazer respectively.
Hot pink power suits were trending in the US in the lead up to the Presidential election thanks to the hashtag #Ambitionsuitsyou which encouraged women to suit up and show up for the issues they cared most about.
Originally created by women’s work-wear brand Argent in collaboration with women’s rights group Supermajority, the power suit quickly became synonymous with women’s strength and purpose as celebrity after celebrity got on board and started posting photos of themselves in pink.
But of course, it was a popular choice even before then, with the Duchess of Cambridge making waves when she wore this pink Marks and Spencer power suit back in March last year.
Whatever the occasion, pink power suits seem to be where it’s at - now we're just waiting so see if someone wears one for a dinner party showdown on Married at First Sight.
