Caravan family's Aldi three-ingredient dessert recipe that will 'blow your mind'

An Aussie family doing their 'lap' of Australia has revealed their favourite campsite dessert made from items that can be bought from Aldi - and it looks so tasty, those at home might want to give it a try too. Dad Ashley Moy, who is travelling the country in a caravan with his wife Rachel and three children, said the recipe is perfect for chucking in the camp oven and straight on the fire.

The peach cobbler is made of just three ingredients: canned peaches, cake mix, and melted butter and is inspired by a family recipe passed down the generations. "All the ingredients are from your local supermarket. We bought them from Aldi," he told Yahoo Lifestyle, adding, "it’s a recipe from my grandmother."

Sharing a video of the recipe on social media, Ashley's three children Daisy, Clyde and Ruby excitedly help as the dad puts the ingredients together, describing the dessert as "yummy". The recipe gained scores of followers, with many believing it looked "simple and delicious".

The family, who are two months into their 12-month lap of the country, have said that caravan life feels "very much like living at home."

"You tend to live the same way, parent the same, and eat the same," he said.

However, one difference he said is they try to "dumb meals down" to simplify the process. "This dessert recipe truly highlights that."

Where the family would ordinarily make the cake ingredients from scratch, they use the cake mix from Aldi to make things easier.

How to make Aldi three-ingredient peach cobbler

In his video, Ashley outlines the simple steps he follows to make the delicious peach cobbler.

• Put a tin of peaches straight into the camp oven

• Get plain old vanilla cake mix and pour it on top

• Pour some melted butter over the top

• Place the camp oven on top of coals, and put coals on top too.

• Wait 20 minutes

• Enjoy

To make it even more delicious, he advises "finish it with cinnamon sugar and vanilla ice cream and it will blow your mind!"
