Can you spot why this building is being mocked?

A hospital building in China has sparked quite the amusing discussion online due to its unusual appearance.

The high-rise block looks very much like a giant toilet, and once you see the resemblance, it’s very hard to flush that image out of your system.

The toilet-shaped building covers 187,500 square metres at the Guangxi International Zhuangyi Hospital in south China.

Apparently the multi-storey ‘tank’ part of the structure is where the in-patients are hosted.

Meanwhile the circular part which many say resembles the ‘bowl’, hosts the hospital’s departments.

“I think this design is linked to the function of the hospital,” local Nanning citizen Chaoyu Feng said in a video published on India Today.

“Maybe it’s convenient for patients. When it’s raining outside then a patient can go to any department without carrying an umbrella,” he continued, adding it’s perfect for “saving space”.
