The Duchess of Cambridge always sets tongues wagging with her choice of clothes and her wedding dress, designed by Alexander McQueen, is now reported to be worth $1.5 million.

Now Francisco Costa, the head of design at Calvin Klein, has said he would love to work with the 29-year-old, who he believes has the potential to become a 'style icon'.

He told the Telegraph: "She's very Calvin, when you think about it.

"She's athletic looking, with great teeth and amazing hair. In many ways she looks like an all American Girl.

"So, yes, I'm putting it out there: I'd love to dress her."

Kate has become a fashion icon and is often spotted wearing high street clothes, which sell out in minutes once they have had the royal seal of approval.

After she married, British shops clamoured to put out replica versions of her wedding dress.
