This cake will shock you, but not for the reasons you think

Baking can be a hobby for many, but there’s those select few that can take it to a whole new level.

Some cake designs will be so good that they could actually deceive you.

One three-tiered masterpiece which was recently posted to Facebook by UK-based company Jill’s Cakes will really stump you.

Can you spot it?

While it looks like the dog is chowing down on a sweet treat, the pup is actually part of the cake too.

“This is one of the cakes at Cake International this year… and yes, the dog is cake too. AMAZING!!” the social media post read. “The cake is made by Carol Smith from ‘Cakes by Carol’ along with another very talented decorator.”

The post has received over 30,000 shares and has definitely left many shocked by the realistic design.

“Wow! I couldn’t even tell! I was wondering why no one ran the dog off after he ate the cake,” one person commented.

“This is one of those AH HA MOMENTS AND HOW DID THEY DO THAT?” another said.

One person admitted they even had to “zoom in” because they “didn’t believe the dog was cake”.

While many were impressed by the flawless design, some admitted they wouldn’t be able to stomach eating the dog.

“I don’t know if I could eat the cake dog. Maybe freeze him and take him for walks,” one person joked.

“Horrifying when people start eating that sweet little cake dog,” one other added.

The post has had over 2 million views since it was shared, leaving the poster, Jill from Jill’s cakes, “amazed”.

“I am amazed that over 2 million people have seen a post that my little cake page put on Facebook,” she told Yahoo Lifestyle. “I have had more comments, shares and views about this post than any other cake I have shared. Hopefully one day one of my cakes will have the same reaction!”
