It’s the chocolate block that caused riots in supermarket aisles, stocking up by fans, and rare blocks being sold online for hundreds of dollars.

And now there are rumours that Cadbury is bringing back the infamous Caramilk chocolate block as early as next month.

In what has been dubbed the “best news of the day”, fans have shared their excitement of the potential return of Caramilk, after Australian products review group The Grocery Geek revealed on Facebook it had received a “reliable tip”.

“It is strongly rumoured that Cadbury is re-releasing its very popular Caramilk later this month…. stay tuned! – thanks to ‘S’ for the heads-up,” the post read.

First released in 1994, the limited-edition blocks caused a frenzy when they hit Australian and New Zealand shelves again in early 2018.

People were stockpiling the blocks causing some supermarkets to enforce a two-per-customer limit. Others collected them and tried to sell Caramilk on eBay for $20 a block.

The post quickly went viral online, with one person seeming to confirm the rumours. saying, “Definitely true I ordered a fair bit of stock for my shop today. Will be on special for $2.40 a block early September At all IGA’s.”

Jamie, from The Grocery Geek, then also confirmed to News.com.au he’d been “reliably” tipped off the flavour would be back soon.

“Originally we were advised by one of our contacts within Cadbury and this was also confirmed by a couple of our contacts within the grocery retail sector,” he told the publication.

The news has spread like wildfire, and people have shared their excitement and plans for acquisition on social media.

“I missed out on this first time around, NOT THIS TIME!” one person wrote on Twitter.

“OMG! Love this stuff and I'm on annual leave the first half of September too,” another said on Facebook.

“Maybe this time we can try it before everyone loses their minds and we completely miss out again,” another mused.
