Busy Philipps Reveals Which of Her Former Projects She’d Reboot Right Away (Exclusive)
Busy Philipps is dishing all about which of her many former projects she'd reboot in a heartbeat.
The Busy This Week host, 45, opened up about the topic while chatting exclusively with Parade for her partnership with California Pizza Kitchen (CPK) and their "40 & Fine With It" campaign amid the restaurant chain's 40th anniversary.
"Girls5eva! I would choose Girls5eva," Philipps, who starred on the musical TV comedy for its three seasons, tells Parade. "I would make a Girls5eva movie tomorrow."
Philipps goes on to tell Parade that she's constantly asked about rebooting some of her other productions, which shouldn't come as a surprise, considering she's been a part of some of the biggest pop-culture phenomena throughout her career.
"[I get asked about] White Chicks, Freaks and Geeks, Dawson's Creek, Cougar Town," she continues. "People ask me all the time when we're doing a Cougar Town reunion, and I think it's really incredible that I've been a part of so many shows and movies that have resonated so deeply with people that even all these years later, they want more."
As for whether or not fans will see a Dawson's Creek reboot anytime soon, Philipps says nothing is in the books quite yet.
"Michelle [Williams] and I have been really trying to get something together, but it's a little on hold right now because of people's work schedules," she tells Parade. "But, we're gonna try to figure it out."
As for her partnership with CPK, Philipps tells Parade it was an easy decision to link up with the iconic pizza chain for their 40th anniversary — especially since she worked as a hostess there in high school and college before getting her big break on Freaks and Geeks.
"I loved it. I loved it because I loved the food [and] because it was a really nice atmosphere to work in. I had the best time. It was the best job," she recalls. "I've been stalking California Pizza Kitchen for years asking if they are interested in having me do anything for them. I'm not kidding."
In honor of CPK's culinary milestone, the restaurant is offering the return of fan-favorite dishes, including their Rosemary Roasted Potato & Grilled Chicken Pizza, which is Philipps' "personal favorite," as well as a revamped Thank You Card program that offers better rewards with a modern twist.
