Burger King's 'Game Day' Menu Has Fans Saying They're 'Stealing' Taco Bell's Ideas

Burger King might be known for their "flame-grilled" patties, but the chain has been broadening their horizons lately—and fans aren't sure what to think.

Last month, Burger King raised eyebrows when they introduced Crispy Tacos at select locations; now, the popular restaurant is offering new "game day" items that seem to be inspired by another fast food giant's menu.

Food blogger Snackolator shared the news with an Instagram post on Tuesday, Jan. 14, including a photo of two new options: The Game Day Pretzel Whopper and Nacho Chicken Fries.

"Burger King is taking their nacho cheese game to the next level with the new Nacho Chicken Fries and Pretzel Whopper!" the caption read, going on to note that both are currently testing in Columbus, Ohio.

According to Snackolator, the Pretzel Whopper features a "classic ¼ lb. 100% flame-grilled beef patty" topped with "creamy nacho cheese sauce, crispy bacon, melty American cheese, crunchy pickles, and crispy onions, served on a SuperPretzel bun."

The Nacho Chicken Fries, meanwhile, are a twist on BK's "classic, perfectly dippable white meat chicken fries" and feature "crunchy, tortilla chip breading." They're served with a side of Nacho Cheese sauce.

Commenters couldn't help but compare the Nacho Chicken Fries to Taco Bell's Crispy Chicken Nuggets, which are also covered in a tortilla chip breading.

"Taco Bell they stealing your idea with yall chicken nuggets," wrote one person.

"isn’t that the same Taco Bell breading?! 🤔" a second wanted to know.

"@tacobell call your lawyers now," joked someone else.

"Copying Wendy's and Taco Bell," somebody pointed out, with another fan saying the "Burger King pretzel burger sounds like it might be better than Wendy’s pretzel burger."

Not everyone was convinced, however.

"Even a prezel [sic] bun can't make a whopper taste good," a skeptic complained.
