He’s been releasing music for almost 10 years and has a few studio albums under his belt, but Allday’s latest album is a special project for the Australian artist.

The 28-year-old recently spoke about his new record, Starry Over The Phone, when he stopped by Build Series Sydney, revealing it was inspired by his move from Australia to the US.

He admitted relocating to fast Los Angeles life required a big adjustment, and took an emotional toll that he then describes in his music.

“The songs, they’re not all about me, but I was thinking about being away from my family and friends because I didn’t really know anyone in LA. I had one friend who I grew up with who happened to be in LA,” he told host Flex Mami.

“When you’re writing, you’re writing not from your conscious brain, you’re writing from something else. The parts of you you probably don’t even know how to access.”

The musician is looking forward to taking his music around the country in August with his Starry Over The Phone tour.
