Bridget Moynahan is aware of the changing perspective around her former Sex and the City character.

The actress, 53, opened up about how she has seen fan reactions to her character Natasha change 25 years after she appeared on the iconic show. Speaking with Swooon, Moynahan said that as the dramedy’s audience has evolved, viewers have formed new opinions about Natasha.

“Over the years, people have found when they first saw it, they were hating on Natasha. And as they grew up, they’re like, ‘We were all Carrie at the time, but we should have been supporting Natasha,'” she said. “I think that’s just interesting that fans grew with the show and matured with the show.”

“I think that’s what’s so great about the show coming back in a new form is that they’ve matured, and now you have a whole new set of fans coming up, and it’s just nice to see how it keeps growing,” she added.

In the original, Moynahan’s Natasha was Mr. Big’s fiancée in season 2 of the original series before the pair married in season 3. However, Carrie and Big’s feelings for one another continued to grow and they ended up having an affair, which Natasha discovered when she caught Carrie sneaking out of the apartment she shared with Big.

In And Just Like That…, Natasha got a special mention when Carrie realized Big had left $1 million to her in his will. Speculating on what her character may have used that money for, Moynahan told Swoon: “I don’t know. I suppose she probably put it towards the kids’ education.”

Moynahan has since taken on many other jobs, including a starring role alongside Tom Selleck in Blue Bloods as Erin Reagan. After running for more than 14 years, the series is coming to an end this month, with its final episode airing on December 13.

The cast gathered at PaleyFest 2024 on Oct. 17 to discuss the show’s final season and reflect on its legacy, where Moynahan said she would miss the people the most.

"We had crew members that started with us on day one on the pilot who carried all the way to the last scene of the 14th, 15th season,” she said in a panel discussion. “And we all grew with them. We’ve had babies, we’ve gotten divorced, we’ve gotten married, we’ve had births, deaths, everything. And we’ve done it together."

Blue Bloods airs on Fridays at 10 p.m. ET on CBS. Sex and the City and And Just Like That… can be streamed on Max.
