A woman got married at a hospital less than three weeks after getting engaged so that her parents could walk her down the aisle.

When influencer and model Dominique Elissa got engaged to Tom Bull on Feb. 15, she instantly thought about her parents. Her mother's health was declining due to her cancer diagnosis, so she knew she needed to move quickly if she wanted both her mother and father to walk her down the aisle.

Less than three weeks later, on Thursday, March 6, she made it happen at Prince of Wales Private Hospital in Sydney.

"Getting married after 2 weeks of being engaged and walking down the aisle at hospital to have my mum and dad with me was the best decision we have ever made," Elissa captioned an Instagram post shared a day later, on March 7, alongside several photos from her big day.

"Yesterday was truly the happiest day of my life," she continued, adding, "I have never been more sure about something in my life."

Although Elissa was initially "upset, angry and a mess" about having to "move our ceremony to the hospital," according to another Instagram post, she wouldn't let the location stop her from having her mother fulfill her lifelong dream.

"My mum's dream since I was born was to walk me down the aisle and we did everything to make it happen, even if it meant getting married at the hospital," Elissa captioned a sweet Instagram video of her parents seeing her in her wedding dress for the first time. "Mum always said the biggest decision you’ll ever make is who you spend the rest of your life with, and that always stuck with me."

Although her hospital courtyard nuptials were "the most emotional 48 hours" of her life, she wouldn't change a thing. "We chose JOY at our wedding," she wrote on Instagram. "The setting wasn’t important, what mattered was who we were with."

She then thanked the "incredible" hospital staff who helped them "feel supported the entire day," adding in another Instagram post that hundreds of nurses looked down and smiled at her from the windows above as she said "I do."

"Our families had never met until our wedding day, but this unity and energy was unmatched," she said. "I haven’t stopped crying for 3 days, reliving and cherishing these moments. I never envisioned our wedding at the Prince of Wales Hospital, but this whole experience is a testament to it's not where you are, it’s who you’re with🥹."
