Bride Unboxes Her Grandmother's 64-Year-Old Wedding Dress: 'Keeping Her Exactly the Way That She Is'

The bride-to-be plans to have the "beautiful, timeless" dress cleaned and wear it for her rehearsal dinner

A bride-to-be unboxed a wedding dress, worn 64 years prior by her grandmother.

The woman, who goes by @missshoneeyy on TikTok, showcased her experience in a series of videos posted on the platform.

The first, posted on Sunday, Dec. 29, shows her holding up the white ball gown, which features an embroidered tulle skirt with floral detailing, an A-line bodice with lace sleeves, and yellow beadwork.

Smiling from ear to ear, she tries on the dress before looking at herself in the mirror, saying, "Stop! This is so beautiful."

"POV your grandmother's wedding dress has been sitting in a box for 64 years," she wrote over the video.

After multiple people asked her not to adjust the dress in the comment, she made a separate video expressing that the dress was "perfect" and was "keeping her exactly the way that she is."

"I'm just gonna get her a little bit cleaned," she added.

In the same video, she explained that her grandmother's wedding dress would be worn during her rehearsal dinner, noting that she had a "royal" theme for her wedding.

She detailed how the dress looked on her in a separate clip, showing a glimpse of her wearing it in front of her family, including her grandmother, who was overwhelmed with emotion.

In one of her latest videos, the bride-to-be reveals that her wedding will take place on Aug. 30, while her grandmother's wedding was on Sept. 16, 1960.

Showcasing some of the black-and-white photos from her grandmother's wedding day, she reflects on her experience unboxing her wedding dress.

"It was so special looking through all of these and I'm taking it to get cleaned, but it was beautiful. It was like so poofy," she said. "It doesn't quite look like that now because it's been in a box for 64 years. But it is so beautiful. It is so timeless. She looks stunning, and it's just such a beautiful dress."
