What is Bookstore Romance Day? It's a day to celebrate your favorite independent bookstore, discover a great new or classic romance novel and dive right in.

This year Bookstore Romance Day is on August 17. I've got your guide to what it is and a list of Parade's best romance book recommendations and stories so you can do it right.

What Is Bookstore Romance Day?

It's a celebration of independent bookstores and romance novels–two of my favorite things. This welcome focus on indie bookstores and the most popular genre around began in 2019. This year it's celebrated on August 17, 2024.

Indie bookstores all over the country hold author readings, book signings, sales on great titles and other ways to make Bookstore Romance Day special. Bookshop.org has a list of events going on, but just call or head over to your favorite local bookstore any time you like, find a great new or classic romance and enjoy!
