'WTF is this?': Bizarre 'inside out' underwire bra top confuses everyone

Online shoppers have been left scratching their heads over fast-fashion brand Boohoo’s latest item.

The ‘Rib Under Wired Off Shoulder Crop Top’ features, as the name suggests, a shoulder and decolletage-baring design, with long sleeves and a tight, ribbed fit.

But it’s across the bust that things start to get a bit unusual. It appears as if the underwire from a bra has been sewn onto the front of the garment, effectively creating an in-built bra.

The confusing style has raised eyebrows online, with several shoppers branding it ‘hideous’ and one asking if it’s being worn ‘inside out’.

“Wtf I didn’t like this look,” wrote one in the comments on Instagram.

“This top is hideous...” said another.

“Is it inside out?” asked one.

“Wtf is this top 😂😂. I mean I don't wear an underwired bra, why would I inflict the pain of underwired on myself through a jumper,” reasoned another.

Other shoppers got behind the controversial top, with one writing, “I need this”.

“Love this look” said another, while one added, “So amazing”.

The eye-catching design is currently on sale for $15.60 (RRP $26.00) and comes in sizes 6 to 14.

The Aussie Boohoo site seems to only stock the top in black and not the blush pink pictured on Instagram, which does much to camouflage the lingerie-esque detail.

Underwear-as-outerwear is definitely a big trend, however, so don’t hold back if you dare to bare.
