Blake Lively - Chanel's New It Girl

Although rumours were rife late last year, it wasn't until today that Chanel was officially able to confirm that Blake Lively is the label's newest ambassadress.

The Gossip Girl star and fashion icon landed the campaign for Chanel's Mademoiselle line of handbags after winning over Chanel's Creative Director Karl Lagerfeld, who commented of her style, "She's a kind of American dream girl. I think she will become a great actress. It was an easy job because everyone fell in love with her."

The ad campaign, which is slated to appear in magazines internationally in mid-March, was shot at Chanel's Rue Cambon headquarters in Paris by Lagerfeld himself.

Lively compared the experience to Cinderella slipping on the glass slipper. "A dream come true is an understatement. I can say that I feel like the happiest, luckiest girl around."
