Bindi Irwin leaves fans in tears with birthday tribute to Steve: 'My hero'
The Crocodile Hunter would have been 61 today.
Bindi Irwin has left fans in tears with a tribute to her dad Steve Irwin on what would have been his 61st birthday.
"Happy Birthday, Dad," she wrote alongside a photo of herself and Steve when she was young. "Thank you for instilling a love for all species, courage to follow my heart and determination to make a difference in the world for wildlife and wild places."
She continued, "Your legacy lives on and the world is forever changed because of your dedication to conservation. Mum, Robert and I love and miss you so much."
Fans shared comments, telling Bindi how Steve had left a lasting impression on them, with one user writing, "Sweetest picture, making me cry. l’m sure he’s so proud of his baby girl and what a good mama and person you are! Happy birthday to your dear dad."
"Your father had such a profound impact on so many of our tiny hearts and minds at the time, and it has carried into being an adult. Thank you Steve, we miss you so much," another added.
"I watched him with wonder, truly one of a kind," a third said.

Bindi's tribute to Terri Irwin
It comes almost a month after Bindi shared a tribute to Terri Irwin on her "unbirthday", along with a sweet selfie of the mother and daughter.
"In our family, we celebrate half-birthdays and call them ‘unbirthdays’. It’s such a lovely reminder that every day is a gift," she wrote.
"Happy Unbirthday to my beautiful mama. Mum, You light up the world with your kind heart. I love you, forever."
Fans, however, noticed Bindi also paid a subtle tribute to her Steve as she donned a necklace with a picture of him on the pendant.

"What a beautiful necklace," a third wrote.
The family's strange half-birthday celebration to appreciate each day comes after Steve tragically died in 2006 when he was fatally struck by a stingray barb while filming a documentary in the Great Barrier Reef. Bindi was only eight years old when her father died.
