Bill Nye Puts on a Leggy Display in Style Switch Up for Runway Event
Bill Nye is known for wearing quirky bow ties while starring in the popular '90s kids TV series Bill Nye the Science Guy. But putting on a leggy display as a runway fashion model? Not so much.
On Feb. 4, that's exactly what he did during a New York Fashion Week appearance. The science educator, 69, flaunted his major style switch-up in a Thom Browne outfit during the 9th Annual Blue Jacket Runway Show in New York City.
Nye's 'fit included above-the-knee black shorts and a navy blue bomber jacket featuring a pattern with Greek gods and goddesses. To complete the look, he donned black crew socks and black shoes. Plus, he added a pair of black sunglasses partway through his walk.
This isn't the first time Nye has been featured on the fashion runway. In 2023, he also walked the Blue Jacket Runway Show, taking to Instagram afterward to share a clip with his followers.
"Got to strut my stuff at the @bluejacketfashionshow. Big fun indeed," he captioned the update.
In the video, Nye started with a typical runway walk but then suddenly started dancing, throwing in a playful spin here and there.
One Instagram follower commented, "Bill nye the dancing guy," while another wrote, "Bill Nye! The best to do it!! 😍🔥🔥."
Someone else declared, "Bill Nye for president."
Meanwhile, yet another fan shared (using scientific terms, of course), "Masticated with no solid, ingestible fuel molecules left."

Nye has kept busy so far in 2025, as President Joe Biden awarded him with the Presidential Medal of Freedom for dedication to science education.
