Big Little Lies drops official trailer

For those planning on curling up with a brand new series this winter we bring you great news.

Big Little Lies is on its way back and we now have a trailer.

The HBO thriller dropped its first official trailer for the second season on Saturday morning, and it doesn’t look like the drama has eased off on our favourite suburban mums.

If this latest sneak peek is anything to go by, the mystery at the heart of the show’s first season might be solved, but that doesn’t mean it’s going to slip by unnoticed.

The new season follows the ladies in the aftermath of the ‘accident’ which saw an abusive husband meet karma at the hands of a traumatised survivor.

It looks like things are still tense in the seaside town, as our favourite characters try and plot their next moves and dodge the attentions of a curious detective.

The first teaser was dropped in January, and the latest tidbit is only adding to anticipation around the blockbuster series’ return.

Executive producer and star Reese Witherspoon added a clip from the trailer to her Instagram this morning and has already attracted more than 1 million likes on the post.

The Emmy-Award winning series’ second season will add Meryl Streep to an already star studded cast that includes Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon and Zoe Kravitz.

Season 2 premieres on Foxtel on the 9th of June.
