Beyoncé general sale to begin: Ticket expert shares tips on resale market, when to buy
Beyoncé fans will have a chance starting Friday at general-sale tickets for her "Cowboy Carter" tour, after a of week stiff pre-sale competition. A ticket expert shares tips fans can use to help secure tickets and navigate the resale market.
Fans can purchase general-sale tickets for the Cowboy Carter and the Rodeo Chitlin' Circuit Tour at beyonce.com starting Friday, Feb. 14, at noon p.m. local time. Newly added shows in Los Angeles and New Jersey will go on sale 2 p.m. local time.
Adam Budelli, spokesperson ticket resale company StubHub, says when it comes to getting resale tickets, "the biggest thing that we tell fans is, first and foremost, be patient. Demand is always at its peak during the initial on-sale period. ... The best is to let this period go by a little bit and then see where some of the prices will net out."
In addition to Ticketmaster, many tickets have been and will continue to be sold on the resale market, including sites like StubHub. And while Budelli emphasizes patience, he says fans should be diligent if they want to get their hands on tickets sooner.
"Don't let the initial sticker shock deter you. ... If you are looking and you want to make that purchase right away, you want to use a trusted source that has a fan protect guarantee," he says.
As fans know, Beyoncé first announced her Cowboy Carter and the Rodeo Chitlin' Circuit Tour for her eighth studio album "Cowboy Carter" the night before the Grammy Awards, where she took home best country album and album of the year for the full project.
While there have been many presales throughout the week, some fans say the high demand for "Cowboy Carter" tour tickets made it difficult for them to snag tickets at those times. The high demand also prompted Beyoncé to add an additional show in both Los Angeles and New Jersey, in addition to the five shows she previously added to the lineup.
By doing so, she secured the record for the most shows by any artist on a single run at MetLife Stadium. She also beat out any band or artist for the most performances at SoFi Stadium.
"It's a little too early to get an indication what the average ticket price will look like," Budelli says. "What we've seen so far is more around some of those initial 'get-in prices', which is anywhere between $105 to $225 across her U.S. tour stop. So that's what you're looking at just to get in, but obviously the price points will go up there depending on what kind of experience or how close you are wanting to get to the stage."
