Betty White’s legacy continues to live on.

The actress, who died at age 99 in December 2021, is the latest figure to be memorialized by the United States Postal Service with the release of its latest Forever stamp in honor of the comedian starting Thursday, March 27.

Featuring a drawing of White and her sweet grin, she is "portrayed wearing a polka-dotted blue top" against a violet backdrop with pastel bubbles "that befit her sparkling personality," according to the USPS. " 'Betty White' is printed in white near the bottom of the stamp artwork. 'FOREVER USA' is printed just below, in violet. Her name also appears centered atop the white selvage, also in violet.' "

"Honor the life and legacy of actor, TV personality and animal advocate, Betty White (1922-2021), whose TV appearances spanned the history of the medium and delighted generations of fans," a description said.

The stamp was illustrated by Dale Stephanos and designed by art director Greg Braden. Stephanos based the image on a photograph taken by Kwaku Alston in 2010.

The collectible stamp is currently available in panes of 20 for $14.60.

During White's illustrious career that spanned over 60 years, she starred in The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Golden Girls and Hot in Cleveland. The actress won five Primetime Emmy Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards and one Grammy Award.

Speaking to Today about the stamp, Stephanos shared some of his creative decisions for the stamp. He explained that he chose the purple background because it is “the color of protest.”

"She had such a positive personality," the illustrator said of White. "She never seemed angry, even though protest is a form of anger."

In addition, the stamp is playing homage to her decades-long work in animal welfare and conservation, as requested by her estate, according to Today. Stephanos subtly alluded to her dedication to animals by drawing her with a paw print earring in the stamp.

Stephanos told the outlet that he was quick to say "yes" when asked to work on the project. He said White reminded him of someone special in his life: his mother, who died shortly after his idea for the stamp was approved.
