The Jackson Family in 1976

Perhaps no other family has changed the course of music history quite like the Jackson Family.

Made up of nine siblings — Rebbie, Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, La Toya, Marlon, Michael, Randy and Janet — the musical family first came to prominence when the Jackson Five first hit the scene back in the '60s.

Michael Jackson (and his brother Marlon) would famously leave the band in 1984. Michael would go on to release groundbreaking albums Off the Wall, Thriller and Bad making him one of the biggest global superstars of our time.

The baby of the family, Janet Jackson, also forged her own path as a musician and an actress. She first appeared on the family's variety show The Jacksons and then on Good Times in the '70s. She went on to become a musical icon in her own right with albums such as Control, Rhythm Nation, and The Velvet Rope regarded as classics till this day.

And while the family has had their ups and downs in the decades they've been in the spotlight, they've managed to show up for each other when it mattered most. They came together when Michael Jackson died in 2009 and when their patriarch Joe Jackson passed away in 2018.

Now, in the wake of Tito Jackson's death, the family can be expected to stand by each others' sides once again.

Below, see some of the heartwarming throwback pictures of the Jacksons over the years.
