The Nutcracker high tea at Sydney's Intercontinental Hotel

The pink, ballet-themed high tea is available during the Australian Ballet's pre-Christmas season of The Nutcracker, and it's every little (or big!) dancer's dream come true. As always, you'll need to start from the bottom and work your way steadily to the top of three tiers of deliciousness. Begin with finger sandwiches, before moving upwards to traditional fluffy buttermilk scones with raspberry jam and clotted cream. Then it's onto lemon-meringue macarons, lychee raspberry tartlets and vanilla cupcakes topped with tiny little pink-chocolate ballerina shoes. Grown-ups can enjoy their treats with a glass of Champagne for $89 per adult (including tea or coffee); or $79 per adult with a glass of sparkling wine or non-alcoholic beverage (including tea or coffee). Littlies (12 years and under) can have a 'petite' version of The Nutcracker High Tea for $39 each. Pictures: Supplied
