In some years, celebrities’ jewelry has stood out because of the message behind the pieces. In 2019, Lady Gaga, who was nominated for her role in “A Star Is Born,” made headlines for her Golden Globes red carpet look that paid homage to Judy Garland’s character in the 1954 version of the film.
Lady Gaga paired her periwinkle Valentino ball gown with a unique 100-carat Tiffany & Co. necklace. The necklace was crafted with 300 brilliant diamonds, with the focal point being a 20-carat pear-shaped diamond.
Actress Lily Gladstone also made a statement with her Golden Globes jewelry representing her Native heritage. In 2024, Gladstone paired a Bulgari diamond necklace with beaded earrings by Antelope Woman Designs, which is founded by Blackfeet and Cree artist Lenise Omeasoo.
While diamonds have always ruled the Golden Globes red carpet, many stars have opted for other eye-catching materials and gemstones. In 2019, actress Saoirse Ronan walked the Golden Globes red carpet wearing Chopard earrings designed with 34.88 carats of emeralds and 21.43 carats of diamonds. In 2018, actress Tracee Ellis Ross opted for bespoke Irene Neuwirth earrings designed with 18-karat yellow gold and South Sea pearls.
Whether it’s high carat values of diamonds or unique styles with a message, the Golden Globes never fails to produce some memorable jewelry moments.
