The Best-Dressed People at Watches and Wonders Sported Vintage Rolex, Custom Cartiers, and More

At Watches and Wonders, the horological industry’s biggest tradeshow, the hallways of Geneva’s Palexpo convention center turn into major thoroughfares for the industry’s most stylish dealers, collectors, journalists, and other fans of Switzerland’s most famous exports. In other words, it’s one of the best places to be if you want to spot some seriously impressive watches.

For the 2025 edition of the show, that meant we spotted everything from rare vintage Urban Jurgensen models to a box-fresh Audemars Piguet Royal Oak. For the third year in a row, we set up a camera in an area we’ve come to call Rolex Square to ask a few attendees the most essential question we could think of: What watch are you wearing, and why? Their answers and more of their insights on this year’s show below.

You don’t see many hoodies or denim shirts here, but you guys look great! Tell me about what you’re wearing.

Smith: Starting from head to toe, I’m rocking my Super Niche Geneva 2025 stamped cap. Definitely keeping it American with the RRL denim overshirt, RRL henley. I have Todd Snyder distressed jeans, Thom Browne loafers, and, of course—keeping it very high-low—I had to rock the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverss to complete the fit.

Dash: I’m wearing one of our hats. This is actually a hat that we designed for an event that we’re hosting with Ulysse Nardin. We’re doing a barbecue. And then I’m wearing the LA Apparel hoodie, Issey Miyake pants, and my blue-and-white Sauconies. On the wrist, I’m wearing a vintage Aquanaut, Patek Philippe Ref. 5065, on a green strap—the only way to do it.

What’s the most stylish new watch you’ve seen at the fair?

Dash: It’s a great question. We actually just came from IWC, and they did a rose gold Ingenieur that is absolutely beautiful. It’s nice to see them elaborate on that model, and moving the conversation from just solely the sports model to luxury.

Smith: I mean, I have to double down on the rose gold, to complement Perry’s point, with the Ingenieur. I like the Lange Odysseus.

Dash: Oh yeah, in the Honeygold.

Smith: I think, especially since we’re talking about style and fashion and a bit of street wear, you’re starting to find haute horology worn by people who don’t like to be your traditional kind of watch wearer. Even for the people that are attending the fair. You aren’t finding everyone in stuffy suits anymore.

I love your suit. Who makes it?

This is made by Proper Cloth. I like it because it has this taupe color. A lot of my suits are blues, grays, and I wanted something with a little bit of a color.

And what watch are you wearing today?

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Ref. 15550, 37mm. I got the call a few weeks ago, right before Watches and Wonders. I thought this would be the perfect place to bring it.

Since we’re talking about style, what’s the most stylish watch you’ve seen at the fair so far?

I’ve seen a range of brands, but I really like the Cartier Tank Louis with the yellow sunray dial. It’s manual winding, and even though it’s a large size, it fits really well on the wrist. Specifically, it would fit great on my wrist, and that’s why I like it.

Talk me through your outfits.

Alex: I’m just wearing a t-shirt, cargo pants, and my grandmother’s locket.

Andrew: I didn’t really think about it, but it happens to be all Kiton.

And you’re both doing different takes on loafers.

Alex: I’m wearing my slippers to be comfortable.

Andrew: [These are] John Lobb.

Have you known John Lobb long enough to call him Jack?

Andrew: I know his father. I mean, I’ve known the family for a very long time. Jonathan I’ve known since he was 20.

You’re the new stewards of the brand Urban Jurgensen. How is that going?

Alex: We acquired Urban Jurgensen in 2021, and we’re here for the first time to represent the next generation of Urban Jurgensen, which we’re launching in June.

Are you wearing old or new models from the brand?

Alex: We’re both wearing vintage Urban Jurgensens. So I’m wearing a Ref. 8.

Andrew: This is a Ref. 9.

Alex: And these are the watches that we loved originally that brought us to Urban Jurgensen and started this journey for us.

Other than your own watches, what are the most stylish models you’ve seen here?

Andrew: The new Lange minute repeater is astonishing.

Alex: And the Honeygold Odysseus is really something special.

You’re wearing a very chic matching set.

Thank you so much. Obviously, you need to come correct. So I’m wearing a really great two-piece from my friend’s [Stacey Wood’s] brand, King & Tuckfield. It’s a British brand, she’s a British designer, and I just think it’s very chic. Very elegant, with a twist. And don’t forget the shoes. J.W. Anderson boots.

What watch are you wearing to go with all this?

I’m wearing the TAG Heuer Carrera Precious. It’s got a beautiful navy blue dial with diamonds on the bezel. It just matches my outfit perfectly.

Other than TAG Heuer, which of course is the height of chic, what are the most stylish watches you’ve seen since you’ve been here?

Honestly? I haven’t seen any yet because I haven’t left the TAG Heuer stand. I’m on my way now, so I can answer that question later.

I love the green suit.

I went with a green suit because I feel like here in Geneva, there are a lot of blues and grays. This is made by Drake’s.

Your bag is really cool, too. Tell me about it.

This is a bag that was made by my friend Robert Spangle. He has an amazing brand called Observer Collection. It’s a really fun bag that I’ve traveled around a lot with.

And I have to ask about your watch.

So the watch is a 1978 Rolex Submariner. It’s one from my personal collection. It has a wonderful patina. I actually decided to only bring one watch with me this year. Normally I bring four or five and kinda switch it up,  but I kind of just wanted to experience having just one watch and how to remove that option from all the other options that we have to deal with at Watches and Wonders.

What’s the most stylish watch you’ve seen at the fair?

I hate to be of the herd mentality, but I really like the new Rolex Land-Dweller. I think it’s an incredible piece. I love the integrated bracelet. I love that it harkens back to some of the original designs in the 1970s, but I also think it’s a watch that possesses flexibility as well as style at the same time. So definitely my favorite pick thus far.

You’ve been coming to Watches & Wonders, or one of the fairs that preceded it, for seven years now. How has it changed in that time?

From the first time I came to now, it’s amazing to see how much the business has changed and how much it’s grown, and how many more enthusiasts are in the space. It’s actually kind of shocking.

You look great today. Tell me about your outfit.

I am wearing an Officine Generale jacket that I got in Paris. It’s part of a suit. The skirt is from Rosetta Getty. And I’m wearing—well, what can a girl do?—Zara boots. This is a vintage Baume & Mercier bracelet watch that I picked up from James Lamdin at Analog Shift. Thank you, James, for convincing me to buy this. It has not disappointed, and I get many compliments on it. And then I am wearing two Tiffany & Co. Lock bracelets, a necklace from Emily P. Wheeler, and earrings by The Gild.

What’s the most stylish watch you’ve seen at the fair?

That’s a really hard question. This one isn’t new, but I saw one really beautiful watch that I didn’t have time to hear more about because I was running to an appointment. Alex Rosenfield’s father Andrew—they now own Urban Jurgensen with Kari Voutilainen—was wearing a really cool watch that I believe was designed by Frederic Piguet. He’s a big collector, so of course he would have a cool watch.

You look great today. What are you wearing?

This is a bespoke suit, double-breasted, Belgian Shoes in suede, a vintage Missoni tie, and a tie clip that matches my timepiece, which I was very excited about.

The green does match that dial. Tell me about your watch.

This is a limited edition of 25 pieces. It’s a Cartier Santos Dumont called the Timepeace. I designed this watch. One of the biggest, most special honors of my life was having the opportunity to design this watch, and to give it to friends and family. I look down at it, and it gives me this huge sense of pride and joy that I could work with one of the greatest houses in the world.

This is going to be a tough act to follow. What is the most stylish new watch you’ve seen here at the fair?

Oh man. It’s very hard to choose one, so I’m going to name a few. I loved the Piaget Warhols. I love the customization they’re doing for those. I also loved the white gold Piaget Polo. I loved what Vacheron did this year, the [Solaria] white gold limited edition of 270 pieces for the anniversary, with all the complications. I really liked the Bulgari forged carbon.

Essentially, I’m just naming everything I’ve seen.

You’re the second green suit we’ve seen today. It looks great.

Embarrassingly enough, I got this because it was Rolex green. You know, no one really clocked it in the Rolex booth, which I was saddened by.

And you’ve made the bold choice not to wear a watch.

I just have a [Cartier Love] bracelet because constantly taking on and off a watch when you try one on at every appointment is super annoying. And it’s like, you’re here. I don’t need to show off.

What is the most stylish watch you’ve seen so far?

So far, I really like the cream colored dial [on the Oyster Perpetual] at Rolex. I thought that was really subdued and interesting. Otherwise, I’m still looking around.

What are you doing here at the fair?

I’m here with my father and brother. We are with Totally Worth It—we’re distributors for Ressence and Trilobe, and on the accessories side Kubik and Scatola del Tempo as well.

You have a very sharp look for someone who’s not out of high school yet.

Thank you, thank you. High school is going to be ending soon. I’m going to be going to Princeton next year.

What’s the watch you’re wearing today?

This is ZRC. We’re starting with them—awesome, awesome, awesome dive watch brand. It goes to 3,280 feet, so it can go deep.

Other than the brands you work with, what’s the most stylish watch you’ve seen at the fair?

In terms of something from the big ones? The new Rolex Land-Dweller. I saw it a little bit earlier because Roger Federer posted it on his Instagram. It’s very interesting. Land-Dweller makes me think of my other thing which I like, which is Land Rover. Maybe you wear your Land-Dweller in your Land Rover.
