Iso bargains galore as retailers slash prices

As many shops prepare to open their doors again, there’s no doubt trade will be slow for a while to come. With predictions the economy will shrink by around 12 per cent in the June quarter, retailers are offering big discounts online in order to stimulate spending.

The best deals on clothes

Buy any two knitwear items from Cue and you’ll receive a third one free. They’re also offering 30 to 50% off a wide range of dresses, pants and shirts.  

Top pick: Belted Draped Tuck Front Dress, $217 down from $310.

Delivery costs: Free on orders over $250 and $10 for orders below that.

David Jones has 30% or more off clothing, shoes and accessories from international designers including Chloe, Ganni, Kenzo and Stella McCartney for women, and Hugo Boss and Paul Smith for men. Pick well and you can save hundreds of dollars.

Myer are offering daily deals on different clothing items, that have so far included up to 50% off brands such as Basque, Ben Sherman and Kenji. Visit the site each day to see the new offers. There’s also 30% off mens and womenswear, including knitwear and jackets, from Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger and Superdry.

Cotton on Kids have 50 to 70% off their outlet store with hoodies, t-shirts, leggings, trackies and baby sleepsuits ranging between $2.50 and $15. Some sizes are out of stock, but if you’re not fussy about colours, you’ll definitely be able to grab a bargain.

Delivery Costs: Join Cotton&Co Perks scheme and you’ll get free delivery. Otherwise it’s free for orders over $60 or $7 for orders below that.

The best deals on homewares and furniture

Buy one piece of furniture from Freedom and you’ll get another half price, up until May 18. You’ll also get free delivery on any mattress or bed base over $1000 if you order before May 18.

Top pick: Buy the Dahlia 3 Seat Fabric Sofa for $1899 and you’ll get the matching Dahlia Fabric Armchair for $649.50 instead of $1299.

Adairs have 40% off their bamboo bedding, towels and blankets range, knocking around $80 off some quilt cover sets. There is also 40% off many of their children’s ranges, as well as discounts on their furniture and wall art. If you join their Linen Lovers club for $19.95 (membership last for two years) you’ll save another 5% on sale items too.

Pottery Barn has up to 60% off a huge range of furniture, rugs, lighting, curtains and candles as well as a final 50% clearance of photo frames and homescents.

The best deals on baby items

Baby Bunting is offering an ‘online frenzy’ until 12pm May 15. Expect savings of up to 50% on a variety of items such as car seats, baby carriers and strollers.  

Top pick: Britax Safe N Sound Brava $349 down from $499.

Delivery costs: $9 flat fee.

Baby Kingdom is running an online “overstocked” sale on prams and strollers, with savings of a few hundred dollars on most prams. There are also travel cots, high chairs, bassinets, car seats and change tables on offer, all with reasonable discounts.

Baby Village is offering 20% of nursery furniture, Bugaboo, Baby Jogger and Joolz prams, and up to 30% on some car seats. Plus, 20% off Angel Care monitors, 15% off Love to Dream swaddles, and 25% of Sophie the Giraffe toys.

The best deals on kids’ toys

It’s hidden from the Toys R Us homepage, but all their Lego is on sale, with prices ranging from $2 to $10 off some kits. Many Barbie products are half price, and lots of outdoor equipment, including bikes are on sale too.

Top pick: Cheetah Bicycles, Swift Boys 24" Bike, $229 down from $275.

Delivery Costs: Grandparents get free delivery on orders over $50, everyone else pays a fee worked out at checkout.

If you need cheap toys to make iso a little bit easier, Kmart is the place to go. They have discounted Toy Story 4 toys, plus reductions on Jurassic World sets, Hatchimals, toy cars, and other fun bits and pieces.

If you have a train, plane or vehicle fan, then HobbyCo are selling half price airport toys and half price F1 and Ferrari models. There are also discounts on model railway accessories, and Star Wars lego.

The best deals on electronics

Save up to $500 on a variety of laptops at Harvey Norman. There are also several deals on tablets, and televisions, with many offering $200 vouchers to spend at a later date when you buy. At the moment you can get 60 months interest free, with bonus gift cards of up to $500 depending on how much you spend.

JB HI-FI have heavily discounted GoPros, wireless headphones, and Samsung Galaxy S20s. They are also offering 60 months interest free on televisions, audio and home appliances.
