The "Best Cameo of Super Bowl Commercials" Is Not What You Expect

The Super Bowl may be over, but people are still talking about an important element of the night.

As fun as it is to watch two NFL teams square off to see who's the best in the league (congratulations to the Philadelphia Eagles, BTW!), people also love to tune in for the memorable commercials aired throughout the event. 2025 was no different, as multiple movie trailers, incredible celebrity cameos and more were the center of focus in between plays. But nothing could be more iconic than seeing your favorite brand mascots reunite — and one particular one is getting quite a bit of buzz!

This is all thanks an incredible Super Bowl ad from Instacart, which aired in the middle of the game. In the 30-second commercial, folks saw various food and wellness icons reunite, like the Green Giant, the Old Spice Guy and more. But what really captured people's attention were the Heinz wiener dogs: dachshunds running across a lush field while dressed in hot dog buns. What's more, one even had the Pillsbury Doughboy on its back, riding it akin to a horse!

When folks caught on to the Instacart Super Bowl commercial, people on Reddit went nuts over how adorable they thought the dogs featured were.

"The best cameo of super bowl commercials!" one person wrote. "Never a bad idea to have wiener dogs in a commercial," another agreed. "How adorable! He’s the cutest!" a different user added.

Now, for those who aren't aware, this isn't the first time the Heinz wiener dogs were featured in a Super Bowl commercial. In fact, this is a direct call out to the condiment brand's ad that was seen back in Super Bowl 50 in February 2016. At the time, the original commercial featured the wiener dogs running across a similar field, as they attempted to reach a family of ketchup, mustard and barbecue sauce.

"From the beginning of the creative process, we tried to find something simple, visual and fun to communicate that hot dogs can’t resist the great taste of Heinz," said Anselmo Ramos, founder and CCO of creative agency DAVID Miami, in a statement to Time back then.

No matter the case, we can't help but love this!
