Hollywood’s biggest night was a dazzling affair and Bazaar editors took detailed notes on the best beauty looks from the 2025 Oscars red carpet. Stars gathered at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles to end the year’s awards season on a high note by celebrating the apex of excellence in cinematic achievement. Polished updos and styled bobs added a sense of sophistication to the evening’s red-carpet looks, along with dewy, radiant skin and flushed cheeks. Read on for some of our favourite hair and make-up looks from the 97th annual Academy Awards.

Zoe Saldaña

We loved the polished ease of Academy Award winner Zoe Saldaña’s bronze makeup look, courtesy of celebrity artist Vera Steimberg for Armani Beauty. "It's always an amazing collaboration between the team and Zoe to create a look and a story that goes with the dress," Steimberg shared. "That being said, we wanted to keep Zoe’s natural beauty and enhance her eyes and skin, and stay with natural tones with a touch of the colour of the dress." The star’s shiny, bouncy waves were crafted by celebrity hairstylist Mara Roszak.

Elle Fanning

Actor Elle Fanning’s soft yet impactful Oscars make-up combined a rosy flush with bold cat-eye liner for a hint of vintage flare. Her voluminous, centre-parted updo created by hairstylist Jenda Alcorn was the cherry on top of a stunning beauty look. There wasn't a hair out of place thanks to L'Oréal Paris Elnett hairspray (Extra Strong, because if any night calls for hold, it's Oscars night).

Lupita Nyong’o

Celebrity hairstylist Vernon François echoed the elevated pearl details of Lupita Nyong’o’s Oscars gown with the addition of a few accents to the star’s coiffed updo. Her make-up was perfected by celebrity artist Nick Barose for Chanel. "To complement Lupita’s Chanel haute couture gown, which was adorned with beautiful, iridescent pearl details, I drew my inspiration from the ultra-glamorous 90’s Chanel runway shows," Barose says. "I worked to play up both the eyes and the lips, for extra drama. Since the overall look was monochromatic pearls, I also added pops of colour, with pearlised highlights, into the makeup look."

Demi Moore

If you’re in search of a masterclass in effortless glamour, look no further than Academy Award nominee Demi Moore’s red-carpet look. The actresses' signature waist-length blow-dry, executed by celebrity hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos, set the stage for her fresh-faced make-up look, created by celebrity artist Sofia Tilbury for Charlotte Tilbury and kept in place with a hydrating setting spray.

“Demi wore a beautiful Armani Privé dress. So for her hair, I wanted it to be glamorous, but at the same time powerful—like Demi’s personality!” Giannetos said in a statement about the look. “My reference was an iconic shoot Demi did for the cover of Vogue in the early 2000s, shot by Mario Testino.”

Selena Gomez

We’re not sure what we loved most about Emilia Pérez star and Rare Beauty founder Selena Gomez’s radiant Oscars beauty look: her glossy, side-parted bob, crafted by Renato Campora for Joico and Dyson Beauty, or her soft yet glamorous red-carpet make-up. Her nude nails were prepped and painted by Tom Bachik for CND.

"I was inspired by the silhouette of the dress and jewellery," Campora said. "I was channeling the timeless elegance of a Hollywood movie star. A deep side parting and polished pin curls exuded sophistication and elegance.”
