"I didn't know who he was," Blanco has said of their introduction, which came by way of a publishing company that decided not to sign Blanco. "I didn't know pop music," he explained. (He'd been making mostly indie hip-hop and electronic music.)
Nonetheless, Dr. Luke took Blanco under his wing and introduced him to other big-name pop producers, like Max Martin (who's produced for Britney Spears, Taylor Swift and The Weeknd, to name a few).

From those guys, I learned so much about how to write songs and how to craft the perfect pop hook."
