Sorry, kid. Matt Damon and Tom Brady are out as DunKings; Method actor Jeremy Strong is in.

Ben Affleck recruits the Succession star — plus, his former Chasing Amy and Dogma costars, Jay and Silent Bob themselves, Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith — for his new Dunkin’ Super Bowl commercial that aired during the big game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. In a continuation of last year’s spot, Affleck enlists new members to the DunKings, his reformed boy band, as they prepare for a roast battle with a rival coffee brand. It's the era of diss tracks, after all.

“This ain’t the DunKings. Where the hell are Matt and Tom?” asks a young fan.

Affleck replies in his thick Bostonian dialect, “Forget them suckas. Matt Damon and Tom Brady don’t have the heart of a champion. We got a new squad! DunKings sequel!” The new squad includes former New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick, who also cameos, and the actor’s brother, Casey Affleck. "Affleck and Belichick, DunKings!” As for the fourth member, it’s none other than Strong, who we meet immersed in a tub of wet coffee grounds in his dressing room.

"I’m just trying to find the character,” says Strong, who made headlines in 2022 for his intense approach to character transformation in his projects. "I'm all in for Dunkin.'"

The younger Affleck quips under his breath, “We should’ve paid for Matt.”

Later in the spot, the former Batman actor roasts competitors dressed in a familiar shade of Starbucks green, titled Barista Buds for the purpose of the commercial: “How much to wait a half hour to get my name spelled wrong on the cup?” As for Smith and Mewes, they make a brief cameo at the top of the commercial in character as Jay and Silent Bob.

The spot also features the latest iteration of the DunKings in new and improved versions of the tracksuits they wore last year — this time, plush velour and bedazzled Juicy Couture Dunkin’ tracksuits in pink and orange that are peak Y2K nostalgia.

Along with bestie Damon and former football quarterback Brady, Affleck's Super Bowl ad last year also featured ex-wife Jennifer Lopez. The original iteration of the DunKings burst into Lopez’s recording studio for a brief performance. “Are we gonna be on the album?” asks Brady, to which Lopez says to Affleck, “We talked about this.”
