A.J. McKee didn’t need much time to finish Georgi Karakhanyan on Saturday night at The Forum in Inglewood, California.
In fact, he needed less than 10 seconds.
A.J. dropped Karakhanyan in just eight seconds in the opening round at Bellator 228 with a perfect shot to the jaw, ending the fight before it could even get started. His knockout marked the second-fastest win in Bellator history.

The win, which kept A.J.’s perfect 15-0 record intact, advances him to the second round of the featherweight grand prix. Saturday’s fight marked his second this year, following his win by unanimous decision over Pat Curran in May.

The win marks the second for the McKee family on Friday, as A.J.’s father, Antonio McKee, came out of retirement earlier in the night. Antonio beat William Sriyapai via a second-round TKO during the preliminary card. The 49-year-old hadn’t fought since 2014, and holds a 30-6-2 record.
“I was a little nervous at first,” McKee said, via the OC Register. “You can train every day, you can train with whoever you want, but there’s nothing like when you actually get in the cage. It’s just a different feeling.”
