Gigi Hadid's Met Gala Manicure Cost $2K

Celebrities are known to spend a pretty penny on all things beauty, and some things even seem justifiable (hey, if you got the money for it, why not?), but Gigi Hadid’s latest beauty buy is truly one for the books.

Hadid — who made her red carpet debut with boyfriend Zayn Malik at the Met Gala on Monday evening — was sporting a metallic manicure that costs a whopping $2,000.

How could a manicure ever cost that much, you ask? Well, her sharp-edged tips were made of pure chrome and embellished with crystals placed carefully on the underside of each nail.

Celebrity manicurist, Mary Soul created the statement nails custom for the event. “I collaborated with KISS Products to create custom elegant almond shaped chromed-out nails, with a hidden detail, crystals,” she explains regarding Gigi’s mani. “Underneath each nail, I added 3 crystals for an element of surprise and to ensure her nails look flawless no matter what angle.”

Since Hadid was wearing a studded, metallic Tommy Hilfiger dress, the chrome nails were the perfect choice to accentuate her overall look. Now knowing what it takes to create such a cool nail look, we can see why they were so expensive. However, it’s still quite the exorbitant beauty buy, even for a celeb (although, Gigi didn’t have to actually pay for the tips herself, they were simply lent to her for the night).

If you want to recreate a similar look for less (and we definitely advise that you do), add a coat of sliver polish onto your nails and pop a few of the KISS Real Crystals ($4) (pictured, above) on the underside of each nail.
