Here's How Jennifer Lawrence Got Those Oscars Abs

When Jennifer Lawrence walked out on to the Vanity Fair Oscars after party red carpet, all everyone could look at were her rock-hard abs.

Despite the 25-year-old Joy actress's strong stance on rejecting the idealization of body image, we couldn't help but wonder how she got in tip-top shape for the biggest night in Hollywood.

Doesn't she say she loves to eat and can't help but indulge in pizza?

Well, speaking in his new book the stars trainer Dalton Wong (who got her in phenomenal shape for X Men: First Class) said when he met her, she had never trained or dieted before, but with a bit of nutrition education, she's still able to enjoy a burger and chips at the weekend.

"I feel I am the trainer that started her education in nutrition, and taught her what foods would make her feel good," he says.

"What I taught her five years ago she still uses today."

The trainer said he told Lawrence "it's not about starvation diets" and educated her on the importance of consuming a big breakfast and lunch.

"it’s about eating protein, a lot of vegetables, colourful foods, and foods that are dense in nutrition, like greens," he says.

He also believes in a balanced approach to exercise and used to combine yoga, pilates and meditation into Jennifer's routine in order to not exhaust her.

"I couldn’t exhaust Jennifer so much that she felt so sore at work the next day, my job was to make her feel better, fitter, and stronger, so that she could work better", he said.

"It’s ok to eat chocolate, it’s ok to eat ice-cream, as long as you’re nourishing your body as well, and not depriving it of what it needs."

Well, you heard the man, it's ok to eat chocolate. Our lives have been made.
