Its latest addition, according to a press release shared with Parade, was created in response to a survey Barilla commissioned earlier this year that looked to get more insight into what fans wanted to see in the future. One of the top choices, surprisingly, was more seasonal pasta shapes.
And with that, Barilla is now proud to introduce its "magical" new Snowfall Pasta.
"Barilla has a long and proud history of bringing people together over shared meals, especially during the most wonderful time of the year," said Angie Cotter, a marketing Director at Barilla, in a statement. "Since the 1960s, we've been at the forefront of developing unique pasta shapes, notably the beloved Valentine's Day shape, Barilla Love, in a market where only 0.3% of new pasta product launches are seasonal launches."
It's not just the shape of the pasta that's gotten a holiday makeover, but the packaging, too, as each box of Barilla Snowfall features a festive tag for "easy gifting."
As for what fans can expect going forward, the brand is already teasing even more to come.
"It's been magical watching Barilla Snowfall come to life, and we hope that it inspires moments of togetherness, helping to create new memories with loved ones," Cotter added. "We look forward to continuing to bring joy to the pasta-eating experience with many more fun shapes to come."
Barilla's holiday exclusive may be as unique as a snowflake, but it joins a long list of fan-favorite brands looking to capitalize off of the spirit of the season. Other limited-edition items you'll find on store shelves as the days grow colder and nights grow longer include new products from Oreo, Starbucks, Dove and Lay's.
