Dinner just got a whole lot easier tonight.

Barilla

Barilla has been producing our favorite pasta must-haves for over a century now. Its founder probably never imagined the brand would be launching innovative products almost 150 years later, like those Valentine-friendly heart-shaped noodles or the Protein+ Cellentani. With such a long track record of excellence, it's natural that we trust its products and even cooking advice, like when we should salt our pasta water.

Now, the popular Italian food company has launched three new pasta sauces, and knowing anything about the Barilla brand, we're pretty sure we’ll like them.

Barilla Releases 3 New Pesto Sauces

Barilla is gearing up for the cozy fall season with three new pesto sauce options. The first new option is Creamy Tomato Pesto, made with sun-ripened tomatoes and balsamic vinegar for a rich blend of savory flavor topped with cheesy notes from the Grana Padano and Pecorino Romano cheeses.

The second on the list is perfect for anyone looking for a little heat. The Sweet and Spicy Pepper Pesto combines freshly grated Italian cheeses with both red peppers and chili peppers so you’ll enjoy the perfect combo of sweet and spicy without overdoing it.

Lastly, there is the Vegan Pesto option, made without any cheese but instead crafted from 100 percent Italian basil, making it thick, creamy, and flavorful.

"This Barilla expansion meets consumers' growing appetite for genuine Italian flavor with a range that offers creamy, spicy and sweet notes to satisfy diverse preferences," Matt Michaels, pesto brand manager, said in a press release. "With iconic Mediterranean flavor profiles, we believe these Pesto sauces will not only inspire new culinary creations but also bring people together around delicious meals, becoming a cherished staple in kitchens across the country.”

We love how these new jarred sauces can help complement not only our pasta night at home but can also be used in a wide range of Italian-style dishes: think slathered on chicken or topped over a pizza. Another huge bonus is that they are ready to eat as-is (no heating required!), helping us whip something up fast on those busy weeknights.

You can find these three sauces now exclusively at Kroger for $3.99 each. The sauces will roll out to other major retailers nationwide in 2025.
