Baltimore Ravens Coach Has a Bold Request for Travis Kelce
Baltimore Ravens Coach John Harbaugh said he would ‘encourage’ Travis Kelce to retire soon so that the Kansas City Chiefs tight end and Taylor Swift could begin a family together.
Baltimore Ravens Coach John Harbaugh sent a bold request for Travis Kelce out into the universe ahead of the NFL’s upcoming 2024 season.
Kelce and his team, the Kansas City Chiefs, defeated the Ravens in the 2023 AFC Championship in January, allowing the Chiefs to advance to—and ultimately win—Super Bowl LVIII. While Kelce has said he and the Chiefs are hoping to close out their 2024 season with a third consecutive Super Bowl win, it seems Harbaugh would rather see the tight end shift his priorities amid his romance with pop star Taylor Swift.
“I hope they get married,” Harbaugh, 61, said during a recent interview with Us Weekly. The Ravens head coach wondered if Kelce might “get ready to retire here pretty soon” so that he and Swift could focus on life’s “family aspect.”
“I would encourage that, Harbaugh added.
Kelce and Swift, both 34, are believed to have started dating last summer, though they did not take their relationship public until September 2023, when Swift began attending Chiefs games in support of Kelce. She attended several NFL games last year to cheer him on, and Kelce has also traveled internationally to attend some of her Eras Tour concerts.

Despite the high-profile nature of their romance, sources close to the couple told Us Weekly back in January that they had no plans to take their relationship to the next step with an engagement “anytime soon.”
Even so, fans of the Swift-Kelce romance have kept a close watch on the couple for signs that their relationship may be progressing. Swifties have loved seeing Kelce dancing along to Swift’s songs at various Eras Tour shows in recent months, and many were thrilled to see photos of the couple after their romantic Italian getaway at Lake Como earlier this month.
For now, Swift’s schedule is packed with international concert dates for the next few months. She is later expected to bring her hit Eras Tour back to a few cities in the U.S. this fall.
Meanwhile, Kelce and his teammates have already begun preparing for the season ahead, even though the NFL’s regular season doesn’t start until early September. Kelce’s Chiefs and Harbaugh’s Ravens are expected to face off in the first game of the 2024 season.
