Bad Bunny is opening up about ex-girlfriend Kendall Jenner's influence on his music. Sort of.

The Puerto Rican superstar singer, rapper, and actor just released his highly-anticipated album Debí Tirar Más Fotos, his sixth studio album overall, but the first he's released since he and on-again-off-again paramour Kendall Jenner reportedly called it quits in September.

"I have written songs inspired by people that people don't have a f---ing clue who they are," the musician whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio recently told TIME. “The meaning of the song can vary in many things, like the absence of a person who is no longer with you, or a love. But it can be many other things too, that are no longer there."

Many songs on Debí Tirar deal with themes of heartbreak, yearning, and the challenges of communication in a relationship. But Martínez demurs, refusing to specify if lovelorn tunes like the title track, which translates to "I should have taken more photos," address the Jenner romance specifically.

The singer and model first sparked relationship rumors after being spotted dining together in February 2023. Martínez had previously dated the jewelry designer Gabriela Berlingeri for seven years, writing several songs on his international breakthrough album Un Verano Sin Ti, still the most streamed album in Spotify history.

Jenner was previously dating the Phoenix Suns player Devin Booker, with whom she briefly rekindled a romance after Jenner and Martínez split in December 2023. PEOPLE reported in May that Jenner and Martínez were officially back together, and that Martínez "was not happy that Kendall was dating" and has "been wanting her back," according to an inside source.

Martínez was recently nominated for eight awards at the 2024 Latin Grammys, taking home the statue for Best Reggaeton Performance for his song "Black Dog," featuring the Colombian singer Feid.
