The moment 19-year-old Sophie Monk was told she'd be famous
She's Australia's Bachelorette who is about to make one of the biggest decisions of her life when the finale airs tonight, but rewind 18 years ago, and Sophie Monk was a shy 19-year-old from the Gold Coast, with a dream to make it big in showbiz.
Back in 1999, a teenage Sophie auditioned for local talent series Popstars, and the moment she learned she'd be part of Australia's first all-girl group, Bardot, is just one of a kind. Watch it above.

Did Sophie Monk fly to Thailand to escape Jarrod?
The bubbly blonde, who claimed she's "not academic" but had always had a dream to entertain, could not wipe the smile off her face as she was told she was about to become a star.
Music manager Michael Napthali arrived at Sophie's home in Queensland, and sat her down on the sofa with her family before breaking the good news to her.
"Are you serious?" was Sophie's initial reaction of utter disbelief.
"I was so ready for a no answer. No way!"
"You're in," Michael assured her.
"Am I? Oh wow, thankyou," she then said, as the news sunk in.
"You can stay now and have some cookies if you like," she giggled.
Sophie became part of the girl band Bardot alongside Katie Underwood, Belinda Chapple, Sally Polihronas and Chantelle Barry.
Chantelle soon left the group and Sydneysider Tiffani Wood was brought in as her replacement.
The band enjoyed musical success till 2002, before the girls parted ways to pursue their own careers.
Needless to say, Soph's profile has been the most well-known of all, with radio host gigs, movies roles and a string of TV show appearances under her belt.
Tonight Australia will watch as Sophie chooses the love of her life on The Bachelorette finale at 7:30pm on Channel Ten.
