Renee’s BIP bombshell

The truth behind Ciarran’s reason for breaking things off with Angie and exiting the show was thrown into question following an explosive revelation by his ex-girlfriend in Tuesday night’s episode of Bachelor In Paradise.

According to Renee Barrett, her former flame chose to leave Angie in order to recouple with her.

“None of these people know that you left Angie for me while we were in the mansion!” she revealed.

Renee, who appeared on Matt Agnew’s season of The Bachelor, was in a fairly serious relationship with Ciarran prior to his own stint on The Bachelorette.

The pair broke up after Ciarran cheated on Renee, something he revealed earlier on in this season of BIP.

“While you were in the mansion you were calling me, making sure I was OK, asking, ‘How are the dogs, I’m worried about you’,” she added, leaving her co-stars stunned.

And as a final flourish, Renee admitted that she was the one who collected Ciarran from the airport after he called it off with Angie.

“Who do you think picked him up from the airport? He said he was over her and he wanted to come back and said he wanted to make it work. He has just played everybody,” she said.

At this point, a visibly flustered Ciarran declared that he was throwing in the beach towel.

“I’m leaving Paradise tonight and I want you to have a great time here. I’m going. I’m done,” he said before storming off.

Fans blast Ciarran for Bachelorette ‘lie’

Following Renee’s explosive revelation, BIP viewers took to Twitter in droves to put Ciarran on blast for his alleged Bachelorette ‘lie’, with one calling it his ‘fall from grace’.

“Soooo did Ciarran’s grandma really die or just a lie to go back to renee?” asked one confused fan.

Another reflected on their changed opinion of the loveable larrikin.

“And to think I was genuinely sad when Ciarran left The Bachelorette...” they wrote.

One user claimed that Ciarran’s nan did genuinely pass away, blaming ‘bad editing’ for suggesting that it wasn’t true.

As the Instagram account ‘Bachie Funny’ pointed out, the sad passing of Ciarran’s grandma and his continued feelings for Renee can both be true.

“I believe the death of his nan made him just want to be back home with Renee,” they suggested.
