Surprising Aussie town with the most cheaters
It seems the coronavirus pandemic left many relationships crumbling, with cheating reportedly on the rise around the country during 2020.
More people were getting busted for cheating during lockdown, and now, affairs site Ashley Madison has revealed which towns in Australia topped the list for having the most people considering being unfaithful to their partners.
According to the website, there was an 18 per cent increase in average sign-ups per day in Australia from when lockdowns first started in March, to when restrictions started easing around September and October.
And while cheating seems to have been rife in every state, it was regional centres that made up four of the top five hot spots.
Coffs Harbour topped the list as having the most people considering cheating by signing up to the controversial ‘dating’ site that encourages affairs.
Albury came second, with Queensland regional centres Mackay and Rockhampton sitting in third and fourth spot.

Of the capital cities it was Canberra that took top spot, landing in fifth position overall, with Adelaide, Hobart, Brisbane, and Perth also making it into the top 20.
The pandemic also appears to have shattered the ‘honeymoon period’ for many young people, as Australians aged 18 to 39 made up 65 per cent of the total signups since March 1, 2020.
