Aussie brand divides with revival of cult item: 'Year 12 flashbacks'

Some fans loved the new footwear design while others were not so sure.

A popular Aussie shoe brand has divided fans after releasing a new design inspired by the 90s.

With 90s-style mum jeans, cropped cardigans and sheer dresses having a resurgence, Tony Bianco is jumping on the trend with its new black casual shoe.

Retailing at $229.95, the shoe brand has unveiled new black Mary Janes with a square toe and 6.5-centimetre block heel.

After sharing a video advertising the shoes on Instagram, which shows models donning the footwear with white crew socks, some shoppers were unsure what to make of the design, with many saying they looked like school shoes.
