"Definitely have something [ready] as soon as people get to your place," advised Porowski for anyone hosting this year. "The version of a cheese and charcuterie board, in whatever way, shape or form."
For Porowski, he's putting an interesting spin on the idea of a charcuterie board, saying, "Mine will be like proper trashy microwavable buttered popcorn."
On top, he will add a little bit of sweet chocolate, with the 40-year-old explaining, "I recently discovered mini M&M's, the peanut butter kind, specifically...And I feel like they're going to melt in beautifully into the little kernels."
Stepping it up for the next food offering, Porowski moved on to a Guinness dark chocolate chili recipe he has in his freezer, saying, "I'm probably gonna do like a lazy, like a Frito pie situation. With maybe some, like, sharp cheddar, and maybe make like a nice little fresh pico and a lot of cilantro."
"But one of my friends doesn't like cilantro, so we'll pivot from that," he joked, before launching into his description of a delicious "easy" sundae for dessert.
Explaining that he wanted to "go the semi-homemade route" so that he could focus on the commercials, Super Bowl Halftime Show, and "the game, obviously," he noted that "really good vanilla bean ice cream" would be the base for the tasty treat.
"And then I was thinking maybe like a good strawberry jam, I'll like purée to have like a little strawberry sauce," he went on, sharing a variety of ingredients that he would put on top to complete the dessert, such as crushed shortbread, peanuts, salt, "and whipped cream on top, of course. Support the dairy farmers."
Porowski's new show, No Taste Like Home, an exploration of heritage through family recipes, will premiere on National Geographic on Feb. 23.
