The High School Musical cast member and the musician got engaged in 2013 atop the Empire State Building after eight months of dating. Tisdale and French wed the following year in an intimate ceremony, in which the actress' former costar Vanessa Hudgens was a bridesmaid.
A decade into their marriage, the couple have collaborated on music, worked together on the wellness brand Frenshe and welcomed two daughters: Jupiter and Emerson.
"What an unbelievable adventure it’s been so far," French wrote on Instagram in honor of their 10th wedding anniversary in September 2024. "You continue to inspire and amaze me every day, the woman I’ve had the privilege of seeing you grow into… and the life we’ve built together by hand, with blood and sweat and tears, and endless love. I am so grateful."

He started dating Tisdale in 2012

After keeping their relationship under wraps for a few months, the actress and musician attended a premiere event for the comedy crime film Spring Breakers in March 2013.
Around this time, Tisdale was promoting her upcoming movie Scary Movie 5 when she opened up to host Ryan Seacrest about why her romance with French was different than previous experiences.
“I've obviously been in long relationships in the past. But I think because of knowing what I wanted, I wouldn't have gone into a relationship if it wasn't what I wanted," she said On Air With Ryan Seacrest.
“I was like, ‘OK this is the guy,’ and he knew the same thing. It doesn’t get any better. I just can’t explain it,” Tisdale added.
Their connection continued to develop over the next several months, and French was her plus-one at the parody movie's red carpet premiere. The new couple was also spotted during other Hollywood outings, including at the Kids' Choice Awards.
He proposed on top of the Empire State Building

In an Instagram post commemorating their sixth wedding anniversary in 2020, Tisdale reflected on her emotions when they started dating.
“I remember having so much fear the minute we got together because I couldn’t believe how good you treated me,” she wrote. “I had never been treated that way. But I let go and trusted my heart and 8 months later we were a couple of crazy kids engaged.”
He is a musician

He began playing the guitar and writing songs as a teenager, according to his website. French went on to record and tour with the alternative rock bands The Why Game and Annie Automatic — the latter of which he was the lead singer when he met Tisdale.
After attending the Musician’s Institute for Recording in L.A., he graduated from Berklee College of Music for Film Scoring & Orchestration. Since then, he’s expanded his portfolio and scored music for various shows, movies and documentaries.
He has worked as a composer on the animated DC Comics series Harley Quinn, Prime Video's anthology Modern Love, the feature film Acidman and HBO's docuseries On Tour with Asperger's Are Us.
They married in 2014

“Best day of my life! Introducing Mr and Mrs French Sept 8, 2014,” the actress announced on Instagram alongside a wedding photo of her and the musician arm-in-arm.
Their nuptials were held at the Villa Sevillano in Santa Barbara, California, and former costar Hudgens was part of her bridal party. The bohemian-style outdoor wedding occurred on a particularly meaningful day for Tisdale and French.
“The 8th was our anniversary, so I wanted to land on an 8th, and thankfully it landed on a Monday in September,” she said On Air with Ryan Seacrest, adding that she also hoped the weekday event would help "protect" the privacy of their intimate celebration.
Shortly after, she shared with CBS News she was "very excited" and "happy" after getting married. The Hellcats star revealed that taking the next step in their relationship didn't feel different because "I married my best friend."
"It felt like I was married before or something — I guess because we act that way. It definitely feels amazing," she said. "This relationship was definitely different from any other relationship I ever had. ... Nothing is forced. It's the best feeling ever."
He and Tisdale share two daughters

"She definitely looks like my husband, but definitely is my personality," the actress told PEOPLE in 2023.
The couple went on to welcome their second daughter, Emerson Clover, on Sept. 6, 2024. "All three of us are obsessed with you," Tisdale wrote on Instagram when announcing Emerson's birth.
They have worked on music together

She opened up to MTV about wanting "everyone to know who he was and how special he was to me" and how the writing process unfolded. Tisdale would go on walks and return with notes as if the two had had a conversation and French started writing chords.
"We just decided to make a song out of what I was going through; it organically happened," she said. "[My grandfather] always loved my music and loved when I would sing."
Although the Clipped actress admitted that it's usually "hard" for her to share "super personal" matters, she felt supported by her husband. "He really gets me on a whole other level and this subject and it being so personal; he would be the only one to do it," she added.
Several years later, in 2016, Tisdale and French showed off their musical chemistry via duets on YouTube. The couple covered their favorite songs for Tisdale's music session series, including “Still Into You” by Paramore, "Issues" by Julia Michaels and "Toxic" by Britney Spears.
He watched High School Musical for the first time in 2019

In fact, he watched the film and its sequels for the first time in 2019 — and Tisdale documented the events on her Instagram Story.
“Does anybody know what this is?” Tisdale teased alongside a clip from High School Musical 2. “I’m subjecting my husband to watch it. He’s never seen any of them."
Throughout his private watch party, she continued to joke with him on social media, asking, “Would you have dated me?” and “Sharpay not your type babe?”
As for her showing Jupiter her past acting roles, Tisdale revealed to PEOPLE that it's not at the top of the list for them. "It feels like a different lifetime!" she said.
