A baby carrier is one product that many new parents gravitate towards.

They’re practical, offering a hands-free way to carry your child around while keeping him or her close.

You can barely walk down a UK high street these days without seeing at least a handful of parents using one.

They may have started out as rather basic designs, in black, grey, or, if you were lucky, slightly brighter colourways. But, these days they’ve become something of a fashion statement and so have to look the part.

Now when we consider the varieties available, parents aren’t restricted to picking between a style that’s suitable from birth or offers different carry positions. Now, there are prints and patterns galore to choose from.

Ergobaby and Babybjörn are two big-name carrier brands but another has garnered a cult following in recent years: Artipoppe.

The baby-wearing design house was founded in the Netherlands in 2012 by Anna van den Bogert after the birth of her second child.

Bogert wanted to create a product that was both useful and looked chic.

“A woman should be able to be a mother, to have a career, to look pretty, all at once,” Bogert tells Yahoo UK. “Or nothing at all. As she wishes.”

The products have amassed an impressive celebrity following.

Chrissy Teigen, Nick Carter, Jessica Alba, Candice Swanepoel and Doutzen Kroes are among the famous parents who have sported an Antipoppe design.

In the UK, it’s been favoured by Millie Mackintosh and journalist Pandora Skyes, among others.

It’s not one of the more affordable baby carrier brands.

Prices for the sturdy Zeitgeist carrier, which also comes in a toddler-suitable style, start from £302.

The brand’s slings cost from £190.

But, you’ll be hard pressed to find a brand that stocks such an array of patterns and styles.

It’s a sustainable company to support, too. A mission statement on the website enforces a commitment to running an ethical business where workers “earn fair wages and are treated with respect and dignity”, fabrics are sourced from ethical producers “that respect the environment and are working with nature instead of against it” and searching for animal-friendly options remain a priority.
