The animated hit’s second and final season will roll out in three acts, the streamer revealed as part of its Geeked Week event on Thursday. Act One will premiere on Saturday, Nov. 9, with Act Two on Nov. 16 and Act Three on Nov. 23. (How many episodes will be in each act has not yet been announced.)
Netflix also released a first-look clip from Season 2 — which you can watch above — with Hailee Steinfeld’s Vi punching her way past much larger opponents in an underground fight club. Demons from her past start to catch up with her, though, and she ends up taking a beating in the ring.
Arcane may be drawing to a close, but there’s also good news for fans of Netflix’s animated series based on the League of Legends franchise.
“Arcane is just the beginning of our larger storytelling journey and partnership with the wonderful animation studio that is Fortiche,” series co-creator Christian Linke said in a statement in June. “From the very beginning, since we started working on this project, we had a very specific ending in mind, which means the story of Arcane wraps up with this second season. But Arcane is just the first of many stories that we want to tell in Runeterra.”
In the final chapter, “Jinx’s attack on the Council sets the stage for a dire escalation of the conflict between Piltover and Zaun,” according to Netflix’s official synopsis.
Arcane‘s ensemble voice cast includes Steinfeld as Vi, Ella Purnell as Jinx, Katie Leung as Caitlyn, Reed Shannon as Ekko, Amirah Vann as Sevika, Mick Wingert as Heimerdinger, Ellen Thomas as Ambessa and Brett Tucker as Singed, with additional voices still to be announced.
From Riot Games and Fortiche Production, Arcane is created by Linke and Alex Yee. Executive producers include Linke, Marc Merrill and Brandon Beck. Fortiche directed and produced the animation, under the direction of the founders Pascal Charrue and Arnaud Delord.
