A$AP Rocky's Lawyer Jokes the Rapper and Rihanna Are Naming Their Next Baby After Him

A$AP Rocky and Rihanna already have their next baby's name picked out — and it might not be what you think.

The rapper's lawyer Joe Tacopina spoke with Extra after Rocky was found not guilty following a 2021 shooting and joked that the famous couple had promised him they'd name their next baby after him upon hearing Rocky's good news.

"They grabbed me and they said, 'Listen, our next baby [is] A$AP Joe,' " Tacopina told the outlet. "I said, 'I'm gonna hold you to that!'"

Tacopina went on to say that Rocky "told me he loved me and we're family."

On Tuesday, Feb. 18, a jury acquitted Rocky — who was accused of firing a semi-automatic handgun at his former friend and A$AP Mob member A$AP Relli in an altercation in November 2021 — of two charges of felony assault with a semiautomatic firearm.

After the first verdict was read, Rocky immediately jumped over the stand to hug his mother, sister and partner Rihanna. He also told the jury, "Thank y'all for saving my life. Thank y'all for making the right decision.”

During the trial, Rihanna brought her and Rocky's two sons — RZA, 2½, and Riot, 18 months — as they made a rare appearance in court at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center in downtown Los Angeles to support the rapper as his gun trial came to an end.

When she walked in during the prosecution’s opening statements, Rihanna brought the two toddlers with her, wearing a gray raincoat with a high collar and accompanied by an older woman. During the court proceedings, RZA and Riot were well behaved, barely making any noise.

At a break, Rihanna and Rocky walked out to the hallway together, each holding one of their sons. Rihanna disappeared into the hallway with one son while Rocky walked toward the elevators with the other.

Toward the end of the break, Rihanna, Rocky and their sons huddled up. Rocky handed the baby he was holding back to the "Umbrella" singer.

Rihanna then told her sons, "wish Daddy good luck" and Rocky gave Rihanna and the babies a kiss. She then left through a back door. After the break, Rihanna returned to the courtroom without RZA and Riot.
