Ant Anstead Tells Fan That Ex Wife Christina Haack 'Owes Me One' After He Helped Her Out — and She Replies!

Ant Anstead is looking to collect on a favor from his ex-wife Christina Haack!

The British-born TV presenter, 46, had a playful exchange with his ex in the comments section of his recent Instagram post on Monday, March 31. In the video, which was shared jointly with Quest TV, the automotive expert reveals his new series Ant Anstead: Born Mechanic has been renewed for another season.

“If you were one of the people that watched my new show Ant Anstead: Born Mechanic last year, you’d have seen that I foolishly went and bought a 500-year-old farmhouse — full renovation project — for my parents to move into,” he says in the clip.

While Anstead is determined to fix up and sell some more cars in season 2 to fund the complete restoration of the historic property himself, he did toy with the idea of calling on Haack for help after one of his fans suggested it.

"So you’re not hiring Christina to do the renovation for you?” the commenter asked.

“Well…… after The Flip Off…… she owes me one!!!! X,” Anstead responded, referring to his infamous appearance as a guest judge on his ex’s HGTV show earlier in February.

Haack then weighs in on the possibility of her renovating the property for her Anstead's show — and answers in the affirmative, writing simply, “I’m down,” followed by a crying laughing emoji.

Anstead’s comment comes after his controversial judging on the HGTV house flipping competition led to multiple stars storming off set.

During the episode, he was tasked with declaring the winner of the best guest bedroom makeover — either Haack or her competition: her first ex-husband Tarek El Moussa, 43, and his wife, Heather Rae El Moussa, 37.

His decision to name Haack the winner caused quite a stir when he admitted it wasn't based on the quality of the design, but on the fact that he feels they are “connected forever” as they share a 5-year-old son, Hudson, together.

"It’s not gonna be something that you want to hear because unfortunately," Anstead told the El Moussas during the dramatic episode. "It puts Christina and me on the same team forever, Because of that, this judge is swayed, she’s on my team and you guys lose."

Anstead’s appearance on the show marked a major turning point in the exes’ relationship, as they weren’t always on the best of terms.

After the pair’s two-year marriage came to an end in September 2020, they became involved in a heated custody battle over Hudson that was finally settled in December 2022.

Christina detailed their reconciliation on The Flip Off and explained how it happened shortly after her split from her third husband, Josh Hall, 44, in July 2024.

“After Josh and I split up, I went over to [Ant’s] house to pick Hudson up because I was taking him to a birthday party," Christina recalls in the episode. "And when I walked up to the door, he gave me a huge hug. We hadn’t hugged in years.”

The genuine show of support proved to be a turning point in their relationship.

“He just said 'I’m so sorry for everything you’re going through and I’m here for you no matter what you need.' It was a very nice moment. We had a long talk after and we decided to put all the BS aside and be good co-parents, like Tarek and I, for Hudson.”

The two then re-followed each other on Instagram and slowly began sharing friendly messages on social media, most recently with Anstead teasing that Hudson gets his "negotiating skills” from his mom.

Amid their rekindled friendship, the pair have both moved on to new relationships. Christina is now dating businessman Christopher Larocca, and Anstead has been in a nearly four-year relationship with Oscar-winning actress Renée Zellweger.
